Kiwi Saver - Political Irresponsibility

In typical political style politicians turn the responsibility for our failing economy on the New Zealand public, the average person is not saving enough, when all along our economy is their responsibility, they have stuffed it not us, the average Kiwi cannot save as the cost of living is too high has overtaken the ability to pay
The carrot on the stick approach of Kiwi Saver, is that the best they can do towards fixing their mess? rediculous!
No present politician or political party can be trusted with superannuation funds as they have already proven, they cannot be trusted to keep our state assets, which used to help prop up our economy.

New Zealand is quite unlike other countries in that our natural resources that can be economically exploited are limited. It is not unreasonable for us to expect our government to limit the extent that capitalism controls us, it is naive if not egocentric to assume that New Zealand can compete with countries that have oil, minerals, the ability to print money at will, and the support of the world bank, the New Zealand economy cannot support rampant exploitation of people or capitalist methods of inflation of property.

If our currency were dollar for dollar with those of our major investors we would be on an equal footing, common sense would tell the least well educated of us that yet our politicians welcome these people buying our country up at what are bargain prices for them. Overseas investment in New Zealand is out of hand and needs immediate attention to bring our economy and their ability to manipulate our market back to reality.

Who can we trust with our retirement investments if we can afford to have them? Nobody at present, as they all appear to be tarred with the same brush and at any moment they have the ability and the legal backing to reneg on agreements, declare bankruptcy, or just blatantly make off with investors funds at any moment they choose, our government does not specify any rules of engagement or place any checks or balances on them nor does it guarantee anything upon their failure, why invest at all? your money is safer in your mattress or your sock drawer! You might not make any interest on it but you will at least still have what you put in when others fail.

I truly believe that our politicians do not serve the best interests of New Zealanders, it is fast becoming somebody elses country and an unfriendly one at that. I have grave concerns for the well being of my children in the next twenty years if they are to continue to live here in New Zealand. Ka kite?
